• What
  • NYC Resistor is moving!
• Why?
  • We got an awesome new space with tons of potential, tons of room, and cheaper rent.
• When
  • Saturday Feb 27th, starting at 10 AM, going at least until 6pm. Call if you can only come later, we may have some projects still in process
• Where
  • Brooklyn, starting at 397 Bridge St, 5th fl, then proceeding to 87 3rd ave (btwn bergen & dean), on the 4th floor. Both buildings have freight elevators, but expect to use the stairs for small stuff.
• Who
  • You!!! We need help getting this done. We have tons of stuff, and a lot of work needs to be done to make the new space awesome.

Timeline

• Pre move (8:30ish) - Eric and Ryan pick up bagels and the big-ass moving truck, and get it to Resistor
  • Resistors who arrive early can start loading stuff out into the front lobby
  • A small contingent brings any needed tools back from newsistor so we can break down the loft and toolbench.
• 10 AM - The move starts
  • Team 1 loads everything small and loose from the space into the truck. All boxes, tools, etc.

  • Team 2 (at least 6 people to be safe) takes down the loft and the toolbenches.
  • Team 3 Is on "big, heavy and fragile" duty. The laser, the pinball table, big planks of plywood, etc.
  • Team 4 is on cleanup. Sweeping, mopping, spackling the walls, wrapping wires, etc (this team stays at oldsistor until they're happy with the space.)
  • Hardware store run 1 is done at 10:15am. Anything needed (paint rollers? shop vac bags? bigass ladder?) or planned is picked up.
• 12pm - prep team goes over to the new space, tapes out areas on the floor where they want stuff to go, makes sure tools are clean, ready, and in sensible spots before we start
• 1pm - Truck loaded. We make the move. Truck is parked (in makerbot garage?)
  • Resistors lead the march over to the new space.
  • Pizza is ordered to be delivered to the new space. (should we do this well ahead of time? We'll want 10 pies or more)
  • Hardware store run #2 is done at 1PM. What are we running out of? What will we need for projects?
• 2pm - Open it up and we start the move again!
  • Team 1 is staging things into the lobby

  • Team 3 is placing things in the new space
  • Team 4 is running small stuff up the steps
  • Hardware store run #3 is done at 3pm. Last call for big stuff or anything we're running out of.
• 2pm onwards, while we wait for freight elevator loads - Projects,  :)
  • RESISTORS, HELP ME FILL THIS IN PLEASE
• 5pm - start winding down
  • Truck goes back
  • Cleanup begins
  • Let people know where we're buying them a round at 6:30 (Pacific Standard?)
  • etc...
