How do I put a dish in the dishwasher?[edit]

Ensure that it does not contain rice or any other solid food, drain any liquid, and place it concave-side down in the rack.

Are the dishes in the dishwasher clean or dirty?[edit]

There is a sign taped to the front of the dishwasher. There is a circular magnet on it. If the magnet is in the "Clean" sector, the dishes should be clean. If they are in the "Dirty" sector, they should be dirty.

How do I empty the dishwasher?[edit]

dishwasher.open()
for item in dishwasher.contents():
    dishwasher.remove(item)
    if item is clean:
        shelf.insert(item)
    else:
        sink.wash(item)
        shelf.insert(item)
dishwasher.set_indicator("Dirty")

How do I run the dishwasher?[edit]

Open the dishwasher. Fill the soap compartment with powdered dish soap (located in the "Cascade" boxes on the floor to the left of the dishwasher). Optionally add white vinegar to the "Rinse" compartment. Close both compartments securely. Close the dishwasher. Plug in the dishwasher. Press "Start". Confirm that dishwasher has started. Set indicator to "Clean".

Why do I have to clean food off of my dirty dishes before putting them in the dishwasher?[edit]

Our dishwasher lacks a dilithium based matter to energy conversion unit, and we lack the gold-pressed latinum required for the upgrade.
